LAUNCHING OF ACCESSIBLE CYBERCAFE FOR ALL

Pakistan is a country with a population of over 215 million. According to the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD 2017), as of 2017, there are 9 million blind person or has severe to moderate visual impairment in Pakistan. This does not include the 12.64 million of Pakistan population that lives with Presbyopia, a condition that causes gradual loss of your eyes' ability to focus on nearby objects. According to the World Health Organization, 5% of every country's population has some sort of hearing impairment which equates to approximately 10 million people with hearing impairment in Pakistan.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) aims to support PWDs by establishing a Accessible Cybercafe for All and introduce digital skill programs to bridge the digital divide. Digital skills can enable a person who is deaf, blind and with visual impairment to use ICT meaningfully and support their education, business, and employment opportunities.

ITU with support of Ministry of Telecommunications and ICT, Pakistan, is Launching the Accessible Cybercafe for all-Digital Literacy Training Program, to mainstream ICT accessibility and digital skills for PwD and create a "Cybercafé for all".
