Ambassador of Sweden calls on Federal Minister for IT

Ambassador of Sweden in Pakistan Henrik Persson called on Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque in his office on Wednesday.

Federal Minister for IT welcomed the Ambassador of Sweden in his office, and during meeting matters of mutual interests and related to IT and Telecommunication were discussed.

Secretary IT Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui and senior officers of the Ministry of IT were also present on the occasion.The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of IT and Telecommunication.

Talking to Ambassador of Sweden, Federal Minister for IT Syed Amin Ul Haque said that steps were being taken for the progress of IT and Telecom sector in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan’s IT sector has great potential. He said that Pakistan greatly values its relations with Sweden as the two countries can get benefits from each other’s experiences in the field of technology.

Syed Amin Ul Haque said that environment for investment in Pakistan is conducive and Swedish companies can invest in the field of IT and Telecom sector. He said that initiatives are being taken to increase IT exports as during first three months of the current financial year Pakistan’s IT exports increased up to 44 percent.

He said that Ministry of IT is also taking steps for the provision of broadband services both in the underserved and unserved areas of the country.

The Swedish Ambassador lauded the Ministry of IT for its measures for the progress of IT and Telecom sector of Pakistan.Earlier, Secretary IT Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui briefed the Ambassador of Sweden about the initiatives and programs of the Ministry of IT.
