MOITT SIGNS LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING WITH TECH VALLEY PAKISTAN

Ministry of IT & Telecom has joined hands with a leading social enterprise Tech Valley Pakistan in order to collaborate in different initiatives such as entrepreneurship, information technology, capacity building and skill development programs. With the number of graduates produced annually by different universities, it is important to bridge the gap between academia and industry and to provide the young graduates opportunities to gain valuable learning experience while working with the government organizations.
Considering this, the Ministry of IT & Telecom has announced a Fellowship Program 2021 with the help of Tech Valley Pakistan that is going to provide a platform for young leaders and change-makers to unlock their potential and drive technological change in society. The program will help fresh graduates to gain professional experience and implement theoretical knowledge to innovate processes at the federal level, hence speeding up the pace of growth in developing the ICT sector of the country.
Federal Secretary MOITT, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui,on this occasion said, “Tech Valley has been a valued partner and this Fellowship Program will help the ministry in getting the ideas of youth in policy planning along with providing them with the insights of the public sector. ”
The Ministry of IT & Telecom aims to empower the People of Pakistan through seamless access to accurate information and reliable services by means of ICT applications & Telecom platforms, and hence, establish a knowledge-based economy. This public-private partnership will help MOITT to have talented young individuals from the nations’ top-notch universities at their disposal. The tech-oriented fellows with a knack for newer technologies and latest trends will add value to the ministry along with getting the required mentorship.
Umar Farooq,CEO Tech Valley added, “This program will act as an excellent opportunity for the Ministry to promote their vision and organizational values among the eager young minds of the nation. The Ministry will be effectively enabling fresh graduates to be involved with the trends, goals, and workings of one of the largest legislative bodies in Pakistan.”
Tech Valley Pakistan is a digitally enhanced social enterprise that was founded in 2015 with the mission to inculcate the culture of technology and entrepreneurship. Digitization and E-governance is one of their priorities to pave a path of sustainable growth. They have worked with various partners including but not limited to IT ministries, INGOs, and many local and international incubation centers. Tech Valley has partnered with Google for Education, Google Cloud and Google Workspace.
