Telecom sector role vital for country's economic uplift: Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja

President and Group CEO PTCL Hatem Bamatraf called on Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja in her office on Tuesday.
Matters related to Telecom sector, 5G rollout, Right of Way (RoW) and fiberization were discussed in the meeting.
Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication said telecom sector has pivotal role in the economic development of country. She said it is important that matters regarding 5G, Right of Way and others progress rapidly. Hatem Bamatraf said UAE wanted further stability in bilateral matters with Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed called on Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja. IT graduates training program, startups and capacity building of youth were discussed in the meeting.
Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja said liaison between industry and academia is vital, and demand-supply gap in IT field must reduce.
She emphasised the need for taking initiatives to provide skilled manpower to the IT companies across the world including Pakistan. 
She said that youth of Pakistan has great talent and there is need of the capacity building of our youth and chanelizing their energies. She said all the impediments will be removed in the way of country's development.
The meeting was also attended by Additional Secretary, MoITT Aisha Humera Moriani, Member IT Syed Junaid Imam and officers of the Ministry.
