Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja's Statement on the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has described the historic "Makkah Joint Defence Agreement," signed between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye in the holy city of Makkah, as a highly significant and welcome step toward unity within the Muslim Ummah and lasting peace in the region.

In her statement, the Federal Minister said this historic agreement paves new pathways of peace, unity and mutual cooperation for the Muslim Ummah, and that future generations will remember it as a new and bright chapter of brotherhood, mutual trust and shared peace.

Paying tribute to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister H.E Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister HRH Mohammed bin Salman, and Turkish President H.E Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Federal Minister said their timely and wise decisions have proven that strong, sincere leadership brings nations closer together and opens the path to peace.

She also praised the tireless, round-the-clock efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, extending gratitude to them on behalf of the entire nation. The Federal Minister noted that through the combined efforts of the military and political leadership, Pakistan has today earned a new stature and standing as a champion of peace on the global stage.

She further stated that under this agreement, an attack on any one of the three brotherly nations will be regarded as an attack on all of them, and that Pakistan, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia will employ all available resources to ensure one another's defence and security.

While thanking the leadership of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said that this historic agreement has instilled a new resolve, confidence and sense of hope across the Muslim Ummah.
